SB 840 update
Dear Democratic Party of Contra Costa County,
Thank you for your efforts last year to help pass SB 840, Senator Kuehl’s single payer universal healthcare bill.
Thanks to the hundreds of organizations like yours and thousands of individuals, we were able to get SB 840 through the state legislature, a first in the history of California. The bill was unfortunately vetoed by the governor.
This year, Senator Kuehl reintroduced SB 840 and we would very much appreciate your support once again. Since we are in a new legislative session, we need a new support letter. I have attached a sample support letter for your convenience.
As you may know, SB 840 has already passed the State Senate and is currently in the Assembly.
