Thereâs a new Democratic club in town and itâs not all politics all the time. And you wonât find them in a community center sitting on metal folding chairs, either.
The Ironhorse Democratic Club caters to what it calls âyoungishâ voters age 25-40 and vows to hold its meetings in Walnut Creek establishments with refreshments. (Thatâs code for adult beverages.)
Club organizers say you should consider joining if you have ever:
- Made someone a mix tape
- Watched a John Hughes movie more than once
- Debated who was more attractive: AC or Zac? Lisa or Kelly?
- Disliked young Republicans âŚ. except Alex Keaton
- Had a feathered haircut
- Argued about whether New Kids on the Block were cool
The Ironhorse Demsâ next unofficial meeting is Feb. 5, Election Night, at the Pyramid Alehouse in Walnut Creek, where a number of Democrats intend to gather to watch the returns.
