Diablo Valley Democratic Club to Discuss the 2012 Elections and New Districts at its March 28 Meeting

The Diablo Valley Democratic Club's Wednesday, March 28 meeting will feature political consultant Melody Howe Weintraub from the firm Winning Results. She will discuss her views about the upcoming elections, including the significance of California's new open primary in June.

The club will also hear from John Hall, the chair of the Central Contra Costa Unified Democratic Campaign committee, who will explain redistricting in our area, including the configuration of the new districts and who is running in them.

Taxing Wall Street to Heal America Focus of San Ramon Valley Democratic Club’s March 22 Meeting

The San Ramon Valley Democratic Club's Thursday, March 22, meeting will feature a presentation by Michael Lighty, Director of Public Policy for the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United, about its "Heal America. Tax Wall Street" program to fund jobs, guaranteed healthcare, and a secure retirement for all.

The meeting will take place at the Crow Canyon Country Club, 711 Silver Lake Drive, in Danville. Lamorinda Democratic Club’s Friday, March 9, Meeting Features County Supervisor Race and former Obama Administration Official

The Lamorinda Democratic Club's monthly meeting on a special night–Friday, March 9–will feature a discussion about the Contra Costa County Supervisor race in our area and a report from a former Obama Administration official.

Tri-Valley Democrats to Host “Meet the Candidates” Night on February 20

The Tri-Valley Democratic Club's Monday, February 20 meeting will feature an opportunity for you to meet candidates for Congress, State Assembly, State Senate, and County Supervisor. The Tri-Valley Democrats meet at the IBEW Hall, 6250 Village Parkway, in Dublin at 7 p.m.

Meet Congressional District 15 candidates Congressman Pete Stark and his challenger Dublin City Council Member Eric Swalwell, Assembly District 16 candidate Assembly Member Joan Buchanan, Senate District 7 candidate State Senator Mark DeSaulnier, Alameda County Supervisor District 4 candidate Supervisor Nate Miley, and Alameda County Supervisor District 1 candidate Supervisor Scott Haggerty. The Diablo Valley Democratic Club's Wednesday, February 15, meeting will feature a discussion about Climate Change: Scientific Progress, Global Politics.

The meeting's program will feature Sam Chapman of the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, who will highlight the lab's team approach to climate change challenges and Justin Gerdes, a journalist reporting on global climate issues. Democrats of Rossmoor to Host Annual Dinner on February 23

Berkeley Professor John Harte will discuss climate change at the February 23 Democrats of Rossmoor dinner meeting. The dinner will be held at the Fireside Room at Rossmoor, with the social hour to begin at 5 p.m. and Professor Harte's presentation beginning at 7 p.m.

Professor Harte‘s research focuses on the effects of human actions on, and the linkages among, biodiversity, ecosystem structure and function, and climate. Two specific goals of his research are to understand the nature and causes of patterns in the distribution and abundance of species and to understand the extent to which ecosystem responses to climate change may result in feedbacks to climate that can either ameliorate or exacerbate global warming.

Advancing the Progressive Democratic Agenda with Rep. George Miller on Saturday, Nov. 12

The Contra Costa Labor Club, Democrats of Rossmoor, Diablo Valley Democratic Club, Lamorinda Democratic Club, and San Ramon Valley Democratic Club are joining together for to kickoff the 2012 campaign on Saturday, November 12 with a fundraiser for the 2012 Democratic Campaign Office.

Rep. George Miller will be the principal speaker at the November 12 event, which will be hosted by the Democrats of Rossmoor from 3-5 p.m. at the Diablo Room, Hillside Clubhouse, Rossmoor. Doors will open at 2:30 p.m.
