The San Ramon Valley Democratic Club will hold its annual BBQ at the home of Jim and Coni Donnelly in Danville from 12 noon-4 p.m. on Saturday, September 10.
This year the SRVDC will honor long-time club supporters Barney and Peggy Rubin. Many local elected officials are expected to attend!
Jim is going to smoke some of the salmon and halibut from his recent fishing trip to Alaska as well as prepare tri-tips, margarita-marinated chicken, and sausage. This as well as water, sodas, wine, and Margaritas will be provided by the club. Please bring an appetizer, side dish, or dessert. A donation of $5 dollars is requested to help defray the cost of food and beverages.

The San Ramon Valley Democratic Club will meet on January 27 for a discussion with Dr. Hamid Shomali, a professor of economics and finance at Golden Gate University and the University of California, Berkeley.
Dr. Shomali will compare the origins of the Great Depression of 1930's with the Great Recession of 2008, and then discusses the respective governments' responses to both crises. It concludes that the response of the Obama Administration has mitigated the impact of the recession and has prevented the economy's slide into a major depression.
The club's evening begins at 6:15 p.m., with dinner served at 6:45, and Dr. Shomali's program to begin at 7:15. Dinner is $24 per person for members and their invited guests, $30 for others.
